Tutoring Services
I offer 1:1 tutoring services for students of all ages who struggle with reading, writing and spelling. In-person tutoring sessions are conducted out of my home office in Mahtomedi, MN, and online sessions are conducted utilizing the KoalaGo platform.
I have worked successfully with a wide range of students; some who just need a boost in their skills and and others with with mild to profound dyslexia, ADHD, language disorders, dysgraphia, and other learning challenges.
My training and experience include both the Barton Reading & Spelling System, an Orton-Gillingham–based curriculum, and EBLI (Evidence-Based Literacy Instruction), a Structured Linguistic Literacy approach. I currently use the EBLI method with most learners because of the accelerated growth I have seen with my students.
Utilizing the proven EBLI methodology, students learn to "crack the code" of our complex language as they develop essential literacy skills including phonemic awareness, decoding, fluency, spelling, writing, vocabulary, comprehension, and handwriting. My goal is not only to strengthen literacy skills, but also to build each student’s confidence through positive, engaging, and motivating instruction.
As your student's reading improves, I create individualized lessons incorporating engaging, high-interest books selected together with the student to make learning both meaningful and enjoyable. I also partner with families who want to support learning at home by providing additional resources, including EBLI-based apps and online, on-demand parent classes.

I live in Mahtomedi, MN with my husband, Eric, where we raised our three children. When not working with my students, I love to knit, bake, read, and spend time outdoors.
